It's been a long while ^^
It's been at least six months since I posted here. And yes the reason is that I lost interest in this game.
But! Not enough that I stopped playing. For the past six months I think I would play maybe 3 - 5 matches
of loot and 5 to 10 matches of ladder per week. Logging on about 3 times a week.
Starting off with something positive.
I think the daily login rewards they did was one of the best and generous things ECB has done recently. They
actually gave away 4 star cards for free! Awesome!! Thank you so much guys!
But... they got rid of it... in the newest patch.
I just want to echo a lot of what is being said.
The good.
First, the gameplay and mechanics of this game are awesome, hands down best in the hand held market.
Simple to understand yet deep, mind tricks, counters, balancing troops, spells and triggers
but the bad.
First, way too expensive. I don't want to offend people who spent a lot of money on this game, but TBH the cost
to what you get is just too unbalanced. We have to think in perspective. Getting an epic card should not have to
cost 75 usd. Please go buy a new pc or console game for less than that price. I think I have said this before but
mobile games and especially mobile tcg games should cost at most 75 dollars. IMHO I would even go far as
saying that if someone pays 100 dollars they should be able to get 3 of every single card in the game.
Why? Sorry to beat a dead horse but you want 1000 people paying 10 dollars per month rather than 10 people paying
50 dollars per month.
Difficulty, you don't want to offend or anger the people who already dropped 100 to 500 dollars on this game. I say
just pay them back the money in gems. Yes they may never pay again, but they already gave you more than this game
deserves. You want new players spending more money. When I felt this game was worthy and interesting I dropped
20 dollars on it. After things changed I have spent zero money.
Second, pay to win is okay... PAY TO FREAKIN WIN!!!! is not okay. For 1000 people paying to play this game you want
another 4000 just playing for free. Who cares, you want the word to get out and you want more people playing so that
more peopel will eventually pay if they think it is worth it. I kind of like the upgrade card system but it basically just
means pay to win.
Solution? Add card leveling to how much you use the cards. Doesn't have to be a lot and can be boosted by rubies.
It can even be as low as win and survive a game 1 game to get to level 2. Win and survive twice to get to level 2, 3
times to get to level 3. So to get to max level which is 50 i think? The unit would have to survive... what the heck
did I do my math right 1275 games?!?!??! That seems fair enough right? Because you can speed up the process by
rubies.
Why. you need non paying players to feel like they are getting somewhere.
Third, this is just me being selfish and old school. Bring back the old loot battle!!! No levels, no epics, no saving cards,
Just 80% strategy and 20% luck. risk all take all ^^
Whew those are my thoughts ^^ Take it or leave it.
I still enjoy and play this game because I already have a bunch of cards from playing from the beginning.
Will however probably will never spend any more money on this game ^^ Still would love to see ECB grow.
ps Hey an apologize to a lot of the people who are suffering in this game I might be one of the reasons that ECB has
become all about rewarding paying players ^^ I am one of those guys that tries to play a game and be good without
spending much money ^^ It was somewhat possible in the beginning of this game to do that. Spend just a little
become good enough that you can start growing your collection ^^
pps looking forward to the next update ^^
Well it looks like you did it
Re: Well it looks like you did it
I just need to say something on the pricing topic.
I look at this from two angles:
* compare to something with real value, like magic the gathering
* compare it to other video/mobile games
if you compare ECB to Magic, ECB falls short on every possible aspect. Most of all because Magic is huge and therefor has an aftermarket. You can be pretty sure that if you fluctuate you cards at the right moment you will almost never loose money. And if you're an all right player you might acctually get out of it on the plus side. Also magic top rares for current sets are seldom more expensive than 50.- most of them are in a lower range. I played Magic for > 10 Years and i think i didn't relly loose any money on it. So a big problem for me with ECB is that i will never ever see my money again. so i need to look at this game from another perspective...
compared to other video games ecb still seems very expensive. I enjoy some other card games on my tablet, and most of the time they will unfold the complete game for small money. Sure most of the games don't have this multiplayer capacity, but comon, how expensive are servers nowadays? Even compared to AAA titles ECB is very expensive. I just finished some games on my PS3 and they are like 50-60 EUR when they come out. But spending 50 EUR on ECB is jsut a dropp in the bucket. When i startet playing ECB i was willing to spend some money, but after 2 Month of intensive play and about 20 EUR into this game i jsut realize, that i'd need to spent 100s to get somewhere. Or play intensively for a long long while.
I dont expect to see your pricing, but your statements serisouly don't convice me.
