Energy Twister

Post by Sandrosimo »

Does anyone understand this card, or is it bugged?

Card reads: 'Deals 350-450 Special damage to all units on battlefield. The damage is reduced by 50% if target is a friendly unit or its faction is Nature Force.'

I've seen it work really nicely in the campaign, where it didn't even damage the AI deck using 'friendly' and 'nature' cards. I thought 50% and 50% wouldn't make 100%, but that could be me.

So if I use it, firstly it always hurts my own cards, usually quite a lot. Plus it seems to often not damage some of the opponents cards, even though they aren't very friendly?

I believe it hits the enemy cards. Watch the health numbers when it goes by. It is hard to see the -damage because of the animation of the card, but keep an eye on the actual HP bar and you will see it drop.

Also it is a certain type of damage, so it wont do a whole lot against the armor type that negates it the best.

You're right, it's just the -damage that isn't shown under the cloud of dust and bones and general nastiness, probably the boots are to blame as well as I'm always impatient.

Either way, after some practise results I stopped wondering where the 'energy twister' decks are. Someone with 3 (or 4?) of them lying around and a few 1000 rubies to spare should upgrade them to level 30-40 or so and see if there could be a viable tactic. I'd gladly lose to a deck like that ;-) - would first need to polymorph the Fairy.. wait, that was another game!

The best use of energy twister is when you are playing the battle bears. It hits them for a little damage but still gets the +max damage booster, all while doing damage to your enemies. Otherwise, they aren't really worth leveling up for 4 extra damage every 10 seconds. At level 40, sure you get 160 more damage, but that isn't worth all the rubies it takes to get there. Unless you're Bill Gates or something.
