There are many ways to beat Philosophers Stone. You can use trap detect of course but often stone decks use trap detect as well making it tricky to stop these combinations. This thread is dedicated to sharing ideas on ways to beat stone.

First up is beating solo Junior Sorceress deck. This variation uses all low level free cards that are fast and utilizes Enchantress as the main weapon. In fact in most of the variations discussed Enchantress is the key to winning and you do not need to worry about trap detect. This particular version uses five fast units of cd 7-8 with haste to be faster than sorceress. It also uses skeleton archer as both threat and weak target to basically be sacrificial to sorceress and revive from its first attack. This variation uses two enchantress and five units however variations with one enchantress or six units work equally as well sometimes without using haste.

Below is just a picture of one more combination using skeleton archers revival as a counter to junior sorceress making sure he is the threat target but also using dire wolf as an effective tool vs the solo unit deck. This cards effectiveness is often overlooked and can be used very strongly vs many solo decks such as Overlord, Duke Vamp, Elvyn Fairy, Gargoyle, and Bear to name just a few.

Here is another powerful deck. This time The free player is up against three very high level epics and two philosophers stones. The strategy is very similar to that used on the solo Junior Sorceress deck and the result is the same. Again the key to victory is the Enchantress and making sure she is not targeted until last. Other cards that can be used are Taotie which is a four star card and wrath of God which is a three star card that can work very well with enchantress combo. It also important to note that enchantress is not just an anti-stone card but also an anti-heal card and can be used against bear decks, gargoyle decks, summertime decks, and other heal based decks. Finally the last lessen is to show how the Orochi loses his ability buff when enchantress attacks him. Since his buff is based on his lost hit points the enchantress lowers the Orochi hit point current to the new max and his buff disappears. An orochi without his buff can go from one shotting units to taking up to three attacks to kill one of your units and even an unbuffed Orochi takes three turns to kill a single enchantress.

Here is a variation of stone which you might see in Pro Mode. The use of the Bunny for heal and the Philosopher Stone is intended to make the deck impossible to kill. And because the cards are very high level this is a near impossible situation for the free player. This particular setup could be dealt with using Swordsman, trap detect, or even double assasination. All this cards could be effective here. Assasination x 2 is a great anti stone combination when there is just one stone. This particular solution however shows off the use of dragon general and enchantress. It also shows how Succubus and Godfather (from Joker) are also decent counters to Bunny and Succubus Queen. In this particular match the Godfathers retaliation damage helps kill each Bunny and the Succubus Queen demonstrating his might as pivotal in the match. About halfway through the match it looks hopelessly loss by the free player but then the comeback is nothing short of miraculous. Other cards that could be useful vs Bunny are blindfold and troll. The blindfold card would be great here vs three AOE units however because of the two stones the trolls chaos would be less ideal to get the necessary focused finishing blows.

The last mention is the use of mermaid x 2 frost Hunter x 3. This type of deck has been popular as well with dealing with one and two unit decks using many heal cards and stone. You can effectively keep the healing unit from ever attacking this way. However the only drawback to this strategy is if your opponent uses an offensive spell you will likely not last 99 seconds to win by tie breaker.
