Reaper

Post by jamejame456xx »

So what are your thoughts on this card? IMO, reaper is the go-to card to single-handedly destroy AoE decks with little variation. Other than that this card is quite situational. Very deadly when paired with frost trap I believe because frost trap negates an attack, and boosts max CD by 1 for units under 10 (or was it 8?) CD. By creating a situation where the majority of the opponent's deck is at the same CD, Reaper basically makes it end-game instantly.

At least he has a lengthy CD like the master druids and other powerful units

I've yet to lose to one, but it isn't a card played all that often. I have seen it a lot the last half a day, probably because you can now "buy" it in the store. It's got decent damage, but it can't be boosted because it is magic, so you've got to be praying that this is the card that does the other ones in. I dunno, it might make all the difference once in a while, but I fear if I picked it up I'd end up not liking it. Also, it has 90 DEF, which makes it a prime target if there are any Aphrodites on the field (which seems to be a popular favorite since the last patch).

Good idea on paring it with frost trap, I hadn't considered that.

I won a match today in Ladder, against a Good opponent using Reaper.

It has to be the right situation, at least in Pro Matches.

Opponent threw an Abyss at me with the rest Unit cards. I timed it up so Reaper would be the 3rd attacker in my lineup. Worked like a charm. After 2 unit hits (on the same target. very important. You need to get a card low enough for Reaper to finish it off. I had two units attacking the Threat.) Target card was down to about 200hp.... REAPER UPPPP. Booom. took out 3 other cards with it. A lot of cards use the 9 cooldown. was GG.

I keep an eye out for these situations. and with some good planning you can make it happen.

Right after I posted that I've yet to lose to a reaper, I played Pennfifteen and got owned by HIS reaper. Took out my entire deck. Ouch. When it works, it hurts. I'm still not sure it is something I'd rely on, however.

Yeah, its its very situational.

Alot of cards are on 8 and 9 timing, so it can definitely do some work if it takes something out.

yeah, and it takes out traps and spells... awesome.
