Corpse Explosion not working every time.

During a match Corpse Explosion worked the first time as expected, then skipped a death/turn, then worked again to finish the match. Before/during/after screenshots below.
Note: Between pics 1 & 2 the other Goddess of Dawn (in slot 2) had attacked thus adjusting Acolyte's HP but you can still see the situation develop through the 3 images.
