Hybrid Decks... mmmmm, yes!

So I've noticed a trend while playing ECB and while reading the forums, the majority of planned decks have one goal in mind. This is usually either a tanking, AoE, single target, CD ect... strategy (don't want to call you out on this pr0digy) that can be seen in other posts. This got me thinking, is it possible to create a hybrid deck that has two focuses?
I want to apologize that I don't have statistics like pr0digy always does, I'm just a software developer/programmer... databases make me cry.
I believe it can be exectued rather well, so I'll begin by showing my test deck:
The Hero (lvl 40)
Goddess of War (lvl 1)
Godfather of Demons (lvl 10)
Evil Lich (lvl 1)
Poison Rain (lvl 1)
Overpower (lvl 30)
History-
so this deck started as a single target deck with The Hero, Goddess of War, and Godfather of Demons then a few trap/spell cards (those would constantly change). Goddess of War would hit first, decreasing armor... then Godfather would hit and usually kill... one second later Hero would hit killing what Godfather didn't. So in 9-10sec I've guaranteed the death of the highest ATK card as all 3 would attack the same thing. The trap/spell cards were there to reduce the number of incoming attacks prolonging longevity.
Every now and then I'd come across a deck that would just demolish me. These decks almost always would contain a slashing strike or overpower and multiple Mia or Evil Lich cards. One deck seriously surprised me tho and it had only 1 unit card in it... Evil Lich. The other cards (if I remember right) were heals and that one card that heals/increases attack for the card on the far left (sorry, bad memory).
So taking from the learning i just recieved, I added a Evil Lich and Overpower to my deck. I still had one major problem tho.... Mia. So I added Poison Rain (Blizzard would probably work also). With a new complete deck I headed over to the practice matches and started winning more than losing, which was rare... especially on quick mode for some reason.
Side Notes:
The point of this deck isn't to keep Evil Lich alive or to keep the other 3 unit cards alive... the point was that if one of your cards dies fast your strategy isn't messed up, because you have 2 strategies. So Hero can die b4 he does anything and your single target strat will still work as Evil Lich can take Heroes place, also Evil Lich can die fast which messes up your AoE strat but you have the Single Target strat to fall back on.
I know this deck isn't perfect, it's been beat by some really odd combos... as pr0digy or PennFifteen reads this I'm sure they have multiple ideas already on how to beat it. However, I thought I would throw this out there so that people might start thinking in other directions that lead outside the box and create new decks/strats that we have yet to see =).
-- Sorry for writing a book =/, this ended up much longer than I expected.
