Re: Ladder time & reward
So I take that as a no as admin had me refer back to a thread where it was desired that players fill up their inventories first before getting rubies so that players have a variety of cards.
ok well why not unique cards given out as rewards per ladder season? By this I mean, every ladder season would feature different cards that cannot be gotten elsewhere. (Similar to the cards gotten through buying diamonds-those event cards)

Kinda cool idea.
But uhh, we dont need the top 10 players getting exclusive cards that no one else can get and making them even more untouchable. no thaaaanks

......good point. Especially Catty W. I looked at her profile on the ladder leaderboards and I think I fell off my chair when I saw the number of cards she has. Now imagine all those extra cards turned into rubies

Re: Ladder time & reward
She's the example that something special 'should' be given to the winner.
Can't see a reason for her to play the game, except perhaps for maybe some more epics. Guessing that's why she's no longer number 1. The concept of the 'best' getting better is the same as the average player getting good.. there has to be incentive.
What I can think of now:
- get them event-only cards that are fun, but not great in stats. Cards being either very situational, or perhaps diamond level strenght, but then unique to 'ladder top 3'
- get them special non-card things. A special portrait perhaps, a bronze/silver/gold border around their cards so anyone can see they are the current champs, or perhaps they can design (with some balancing help) a card for the next update, or have a card carry a name they choose.
- get them newly released cards ahead of time, see their decks.. and wait till the next update to make those decks yourselves
- or go with the flow of other games and just give them a super-epic that beats everyone and keeps you on top
- any other creative idea!
But if I would theoretically, or is it hypothetically.. ever end up in a top spot, I'd prefer even the last option from... 500 diamonds!

Re: Ladder time & reward
How about introducing this kind of card:
A diamond-level card with meager stats but yields either a really large amount of gold when sold or a decent amount of rubies when sacrificed? These cards can be given out to players that range from 1-100, of course in varying amounts based on the rank that you have.
But speaking of keeping players interested, I heard you guys were introducing hardcore mode right? That 18 card behemoth of a mode? Well why not after that is released, you guys try to make a mode that involves co-op with friends? 2v2 would be interesting. Especially a 2v2 pro mode

Good points Sandrosimo.
I really like the profile pics one especially. They should definitely consider that.
As well as rare cards that dont tilt the table(because they are heavy and OP ) would be totally sweet and fair. Something that shows you were top but isnt an insta-win card. I could see that.

Where is this Hard-core mode confirmed? And the Co-op.. Mind blown. That would be sweet.jamejame456xx wrote:How about introducing this kind of card:

You can see it from in-game. Go to library-> version log/change log-> scroll down a bit and click next version preview or something like that. More quests, hardcore mode, and something with the next versionPennFifteen wrote:Where is this Hard-core mode confirmed? And the Co-op.. Mind blown. EDIT: Oh yeah and theres a fifth faction coming out. I guess I should get some more card packs
Re: Ladder time & reward
Is anybody looking for a fifth faction? It would make more sense if you got some sort of bonus for using more faction cards (ie, for every Shrine Alliance over 1, you get a 5% ATK bonus). Hell can cause a bleed effect. etc. etc. So few cards actually target specific factions.jamejame456xx wrote:EDIT: Oh yeah and theres a fifth faction coming out. Re: Ladder time & reward
Faction bonuses would be dope. But I feel that would take a lottt more balancing then they are already working with. And actually doing a pretty good job IMO.
