So, I know that in the future, players will make threads in the form of "How do I beat/counter this X deck?" This thread will house all of these questions and solutions instead of having multiple threads of essentially the same question.
So to start things off,
How do I counter this?
Orochi, Orochi, Godfather of Demons, "Reaper", Chain Lightning, Chain Lightning
Important things to note are that the 2 orochis are level 20, godfather is level 30, and there are variations with the reaper slot meaning this deck doesn't always have a reaper.
and another deck
Red Dragon, Red Dragon, Red dragon, red dragon, Elves seduction, chain lightning
I'd figured that I would probably need a sabotage here but I don't run sabotage normally when playing quick mode. Oh and the dragons are all level 40 while chain lightning is level 20

My favourite counter to Unarmored and Light Armor units is Apprentice Swordsman with Slashing Strike, with optional Elves Seduction. Finish the job with Duke Vamps, and make sure you vary your deck so it has no more than 1 of each faction.
Red Dragon, Red Dragon, Red dragon, red dragon, Elves seduction, chain lightning
Aphrodite + Overpower should solve this one fairly easily. Adding Jenifer would be helpful too.
When using these counters be sure to prevent them from being the first target or countered by traps. You can do this by buffering them with other units possessing:
- higher attack
- lower HP
- shorter cooldowns

Ok how about this deck? (I got wrecked by this and took a beating to my DP)
Goddess of War lvl.30, Godfather of demons lvl. 30, 2 blade master lvl. 40, 2 reapers lvl. 40

The best counter would be to press "Start Game" then walk away and come back when you have been defeated LOL
In all seriousness this is one possible counter:
Duke Vamp, Apprentice Swordsman, Hot Ninja, Aphrodite, Red Dragon, Slashing Strike
Defense theory:
The Red Dragon will endure all the punishment initially as it is the most threatening. Its HP should be reduced enough that the reapers will take it down first, with no other casualties as its cooldown is not shared by other cards. Aphrodite will unfortunately be on the chopping block next, but she should have done enough damage to Goddess that the others can finish the job.
If your opponent throws in Abyss, Aphrodite will be the "sacrificial lamb" to help the Apprentice + Slashing to get through.
Offense theory:
Aphrodite will lead the offense by hitting any unit + Goddess. Apprentice Swordsman will follow, doing some serious area of effect (AOE) damage. Hot Ninja and Duke should take down the two Blademasters. From this point on Duke will "inherit" Slashing Strike, causing huge damage plus regaining health. If Aphrodite survives long enough, she should be able to help hurt the Goddess enough for the others to chip her down.
Problems:
- A single Abyss card could mean "Game Over"
- If your card levels are too low this would probably still not work. Thankfully Apprentice Swordsman and Slashing Strike are cheap to level up.
- If your opponent saw this setup coming they may not play the way they did.

Re: The "How to Counter this Deck" Thread
Sorry for my stupid question but... HOW YOU COUNTER ANY DECK?
I mean, you never know which deck the opponent take so how counter decks?
My sample:
I see the first Cards (in Pro Mode) Succubus...
My first 2 cards are already selected (so you have only 4 more to choice)...
So i choose violent maid to counter (first 2 of it, so i only have 2 more to go)
the opponent see this and chance strategy, my counter strategy is only trash and i lose...
Is it not always so?
Can someone really counter a deck when already 2 cards are choosen and you have only 4 more...
You never see all cards of the opponent ... ...

Re: The "How to Counter this Deck" Thread
I've been wondering this myself. What two cards should I lead with? Should my next two cards be an answer to the first two cards I see of my opponent, or should I just do my own thing. Same with the last two cards, should they be to counter the four cards my opponent has? What if they played something to counter you?Olcay wrote:Sorry for my stupid question but... To be honest, I think the more you play, the more you get a feel of it. Sometimes, you just play the six cards you want, and to hell with what your opponent plays. Sometimes they come out with trigger cards, and you wonder if you want to play a trap detect or just take the risk. Sometimes you play your two best cards, and then use the second turn to counter the first two cards you see and then the third turn to counter the next two cards. (I usually lose at this strategy for some reason)
The short answer is that there really is no answer, because it comes down to how your opponent plays. If he is playing his six cards he wants to, then countering some of them is a great way to go. Some people play six of the same cards (six liches, six hell kitties, etc). So a few counters on these and you are probably going to come out ahead. Some people play counter to your cards. Some people only try to counter with their last pick. The thing is that you don't know until you play for a while before you can predict what is going to come out.
The trick is to find a few variations of a deck that work for you, and something you can work counters into. For instance, I have two epics I can choose from... an Archangel that can sometimes hit like a mad truck (and other times like a grandmother stuck in a wheelchair), and a Dragon Slayer, who isn't a strong hitter... unless he is playing against somebody with a lot of hit points (1,900+). I usually play one or the other, rarely both, but wait and see what kind of deck I"m up against before I decide.
I hope that helps.

Re: The "How to Counter this Deck" Thread
yes it is quite possible to beat any deck by outthinking your opponent. In ladder mode, I had orochi and moonlight assassin as my first two cards while my opponent had godfather of demons and goddess of war. This person threw out 2 epics at once! Ok so I then figured he would probably counter my assassin with a melee guy which 90% of the time ends up as blade master. Lo and behold he chooses 2 blade masters as his next 2 cards while I stuck with an assassin and a reaper. Ok so im at a disdvantage here and obviously overpowered. But I figured this guy would take afvantage of the fact I had 2 assassins and would probably play a reaper. Ok so he will play 5 cards......a divine barrier should halt his afvance and I need to do something about these units. I gambled it all on my level 20 reaper combined with a thundergods wrath. Lo and behold I won the match by having the foresight to counter his deck.Olcay wrote:Sorry for my stupid question but... HOW YOU COUNTER ANY DECK?

If you play enough matches, you'll see trends in enemy decks and know what the enemy might play

JameJame is brilliant, I can't ever think that far ahead. He's right, however, in that the more you play, the more you'll figure it out.
Unless your name is BlueBear, in which case you plot out over a thousand bucks and instantly know how to play and counterplay everything. He's was mopping the floor on day 1, which... does this strike anybody else as suspicious?
Unrelated topic: Hey, EBC, does anybody on your staff/payroll play? And, if so, are they designated as staff?

Very useful thread, the deck where someone replied "press start and comeback when you have defeated" is such an OP deck, very money draining deck aswell *.*
