General Tips for New Players

Post by Ironbunt »

Hi guys,

Welcome to Epic Cards Battle (ECB)! I've been playing the game since it was first released in Feb 2013 so it's been quite an adventure seeing how it has evolved. ECB has the wonderful quality of being a simple game to play but difficult to master. I know how hard it can be for you as a newbie so I thought I'd contribute a few general tips to help you get started.

1. Get acquainted with the Library
Whilst we wait for a tutorial mode to be created, this is the best and only way to know the basic rules of the game. Get to know the damage and armor types as well as the "attack target" system.

2. Have fun with practice mode
The game developers listened to the feedback from players and created this option for new starters to get familiar with the game without risk. Because there is no risk involved, feel free to try whatever crazy combinations you want and observe how individual cards fare against your opponents. Play on this mode as long as you need until you can build decent decks, keeping in mind that advanced players mostly play the 100 coins wager matches.

3. Log in often to collect your rewards
When starting this may be the only income you have, so calculate how often you need to log in to maximize your daily rewards!

Drop me a note if you have any questions and I'll do my best to help you along!

All good advice! Also, learn from the campaign. They come up with some pretty creative combinations of cards. Some work well against others and some groups of them are pretty hard to beat. It's a good place to start while forming an attack strategy.

And don't forget to add a bunch of friends, especially if you intend to play all day (like I do). Energy runs dry quickly, but your friends can refuel you in a hurry.

Hi guys
I'm playing at my iPad and I can't figure out how to play Campaign???
I don't use to be stupid - but I get an empty map!
How do I do to play Campaign? How do I access the Campaign?
I can't find any instructions, am I on to low level (Level 16)?
Please someone give me a hint.

In keeping with the topic,

New players, try to keep in mind that enhancing is something you can worry about in the far future.

It is also urged to keep all cards you get even if you do not find them to your liking.
New versions come out and cards get balanced or changed, so you never know when a gem shows up in your hand.

A question to vets, I am having a severe issue with the campaign quest 5-3. I see the advised but I have none of the key cards to try and beat this one.. Anyone got advice for it?

In case I messed up the number, the one I am looking at is the Poison Rain and Saders.
Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, I have questions, really need ur helps:
Now im doing quest 6-3. I saw that i can gather 01 diamond from a bunch of quests. The question is how many quests that allow to get diamond? Are they enough to get VIP level 1 or higher?

The last card i can get from quest till now is Princess Mia. Im wondering is there any free card from higher level quests?
Thanks!

Diamond is tough to get and you won't see a lot of opportunity to ever get more than one from a quest. Best way to get is from ladder play and ranking high. There is not a lot of opportunity to get cards in campaign either just some gold and experience.

No new cards from quests after 6.10 just one diamond for each three star after 6.10. I know there's a thread that has the solution to each campaign but I would personally use a reaper with maybe some faerie dragons but there's a hundred different ways to do it. A couple magic overwhelms with some area attack units can wipe the succubus out too before they attack.
