"The energy thing is just plain stupid." That's incorrect.
The purpose of energy system is not to limit the players from playing but an improvement to the game system.
1. Avoid players losing interests on the game, keep they play everyday.
2. Prevent unfair competition while someone just got whole day sitting there and playing games and those who have not much time to play everyday. Those who got plenty time will be ranked high by just completing battles. Those don't have time will have no chance to catch up even they have better understanding on the game.
3. Prevent paid players keep using high rarity cards crushing other players. That's why the cost for different cards are different. If you keep using high CAP deck, you will lose energy quickly.
The objective is to create an fair environment for every player. Allocate enough time for basic players to enjoy the game. And if you really hardcore and want play more, there is a upgrade VIP option.

Oh, so that's why.
Thank you for the explanation.

Re: Sale?
There are better ways than energy to get this to happen. A daily reward for logging in and playing? Maybe some gold or something?ecb_admin wrote:1. Avoid players losing interests on the game, keep they play everyday.
There is already an unfair competition toward people who a) send you money, b) people who have been playing longer, and c) people willing to swap diamonds for more energy. The energy system actually seems to reward these people, not prevent them from killing off newer players. New players still get matched up with the the people ranked in the top 25. Instead, you are preventing new players from playing more so they can up their deck and compete with the older players.ecb_admin wrote:2. This can be easily mitigated by not having battles within a certain CAP score, not by limiting how often one can play. Whenever I do loot battles, I always get Vanra (does that guy ever sleep, geez!!!) who will throw a handful of level 30 epics your direction. Your energy system sure doesn't prevent that. I see him on all the time, playing 30+ CAP hands, so this tells me it isn't working.ecb_admin wrote:3. Prevent paid players keep using high rarity cards crushing other players. I understand some of your concerns, but the energy thing doesn't fix them. All of the problems you just discussed are ones I constantly see anyway.

Pr0digy is right Admin.
The energy doesn't stop paying players crushing non paying players, in the slightest. Don't kid yourself.
As I can see the 'business model' part of it, sorta. A system that inhibits players to play as much as they would like doesn't make much sense to me.
Yes, the burn out aspect is legit. But let it happen, if the games good enough they will keep playing.
Maybe keep your energy system (All mobile games go down this path. I guess it works?). But maybe let us obtain more? Maybe half energy back per win. A log in bonus like Prod said. Just more energy cap period. Something would be great.
I really like this card game, I like what your doing with it. But there come times in the day if I play a bit where I can't play anymore. Yes even after 8 or 10 friends worth of energy swap. Sorry if this comes off harsh I just want to play at will

Re: Sale?
Do they? I just got 2 beta keys for Hearthstone and I just played and played and played. No energy. No cards that you have to obtain by paying money and hoping for a lucky draw. It even rewards me with gold, which can be used to buy more decks, for playing just 3 games every day.PennFifteen wrote:(All mobile games go down this path. I guess it works?)
But what do they know? They'll only be making several million dollars the day it is released to the public. It's made by some small little outfit who probably knows nothing about gaming.
