So right now there are four attack types: melee, pierce, magic, special. (And also aoe but not part of this discussion). Each of the four attack types work like a paper rocks scissors over the four armor types: unarmored, light, heavy, and enchanted. I thought it might be an interesting idea to introduce a new attack type and armor type called legendary attack and legendary armor that works like a trump always dealing 150% and always defending 75% or the best defense. There are currently two units that employ these abilities already, princess Mia and junior sorceress kind of. With changing Mia from melee to legendary attack it would not change her really at all except she would always deal 150% regardless of her hp. That's probably better anyway as now she is weak already and needs a bump. Also junior sorceress reduces damage done by 50% but that's after the attacker gets their attack bonus from melee or pierce so its really less. You could change her to legendary armor and all incoming attacks come in at 75% with no modifiers from opposing attack type. This would pretty much average out to an even exchange for her maybe even better. And her conditions could also be dropped.
The nice thing about introducing this new attack type is it actually could introduce some new cards such as:
1. Spell: all units get legendary attack and armor at the beginning of battle. (Edit: all units with weapons their weapons become legendary. See weapon less attack type below)
2. Trap: when target ally with legendary armor attacks, it becomes unarmored and its attack is cancelled. Nice setup for a swordsman.
3. And a bunch of new units free and paid based off this concept.
Also if this idea has any merit there may be some current cards who's attack type could be changed to legendary attack or armor. A few that come to mind are:
1. Archangel to legendary attack and armor. Hard to play him bc of frost bolt.
2. Overlord to legendary attack. Vs a treant he can't even be played in early slots.
3. Tomb raider to legendary attack and legendary armor. Supposed to be a solution to epics but seems to be coming up short. Can keep its ability plus add legendary attack and armor making it kind of an epic slayer for free players.
4. Crusader to legendary attack and armor. Great tank already though this might make him too op in core matches. Might have to take some of his high defense away if you did this.
5. Spector to legendary armor. Statistically this card played .005% I bet if you check your database. Something is not right with this card for it being a legend card. Some say too few hp easily killed by an aoe unit or a spell.
Well you know me. I'm always throwing out new ideas and half are bad ideas. Just another thing to make the game more complex and dynamic.
You could also create a weaponless class of attack types. Weapoless could always deal 50% damage regardless of attack type. This would also be interesting as you could introduce new cards such as:
1. Spell: dissolve weapon. Cd=7s. Random enemy unit becomes weapon less.
2. Unit: ogre. Weapon less. Cd=10s. Unarmored. High hp tank. Most are high cd with heavy armor.
3. Trigger: when friendly unit attacks it knock weapon out of opposing units hand and that unit becomes weapon less.

Interesting idea. I just fell that we do not need, yet, more complexity to generate new cards yet. The V2.2 changes proved it. even now, spells and triggers do used on specific armor types are not used as much as they could.
