Trends

Since none of you know anything about me, I'm a database programmer. In other words, I'm a data nut!! I love collecting it, analyzing it, and helping my business make more money from the information I gleam from what I gather.

So, I was wondering what the trends for a deck of cards are. It's just a small sample, but I just did 20 fights to see what you should expect to see.

The average units played was 3.8 people. 7 of those fights I saw 4 people. This means I should see 4 players in a third of my fights. I saw 3 or more in all but 3 fights.

The exact average for spell cards is 1, though 7 fight had zero spell cards. This means you should expect to see a spell card in 2 out of 3 games.

Trigger cards were actually played more than spell cards... 23% more. So, again, a trigger card should be more than expected to be seen each round. A trigger card was played in all but 7 matches again, which means when people play trigger cards, they are likely to play more than 1 of them.

What to make of this data? Well, I'd like to build this out to 100 matches to get more definitive, but if things hold true with this then I'd think my strategy would fall along these lines:

1) Through out a sabotage or power overwhelm card to counter the spell cards. These will come in handy in 66% of your matches, and often ruin my day when I come across one.

2) Through in a trap detector to counter trigger cards. Again, comes in handy in 66% of your matches, and has made the difference in a lot of my fights.

3) Area damage is helpful!! Cards that hit everybody can end up hitting a lot of people, but can also hurt if they hit the wrong cards (bears, Nine-Tailed Foxes (don't see those often), and Ice Elementals (again, not too often)). And ifyou see 4 or more succubuses (succubi?), well, you're character is going to die before they even attack. Personally, I prefer the spell cards for throwing out damage, like Blizzard (which slows them down), Acid Rain (which means hitting them can do more damage), Chain Lighnting, and Energy Twister. This is where Magic Overwhelms come in handy... they are usually played in the hands that end up defeating me. I've said elsewhere I'm not the biggest fan of playing them, but I might have to re-think that.

Now, of course, there is no combination that is unbeatable. But if you are playing by the numbers, and wish to win well over 50% of your matches, you might want to consider what is written above. Statistically speaking, it could give you an edge in most of your battles.

I'll report back when I have more data. :)

Good shit Pr0. Im gunna call you Pr0 cuz were br0, ya kn0?

Alright, serious face. I also like data, as long as it's involving something I enjoy ;).

I'm down to help you out if you'de like. the more numbers the merrier. As far as how many Unit, Spell and Trigger cards there are per battle. I'm willing to keep track of my fights as well.

Would also be cool if you would have separate data collected for 100 gold battles and 300 gold battles. Just a thought :ugeek:

I've been tracking that too, and also if I won the fight or not, and sometimes a note one what I played and what they played. :)

Wow, impressive work. Thanks for the data.
I am hoping to get the trap detection card, I really could use it in my deck.

I feel this game is a bit like the share market crossed with a slot machine.

I've got 50 ish battles tracked. Ill send em over in a message I suppose.

- On another note.

I am seeing ALOT of one or two Gargs, with heals and dmg spells. Ive used this a decent amount too. But Im now running a Garg killer deck.

Blademaster who scales his hits off of armor bonus. One of him with Slashing Strike (always hits first, 7 cooldown) Princess Mia + slashing strike and some other unit card, and a Defense card.

Cutting threw Gargs like buttaaaah!
