Grand Ladder

I’m curious to know if anyone can explain how the points are calculated for the grand ladder.

I’m assuming the standings in both ladder and arena are taken into account?

The reason I’m assuming this is I’ve just looked at this seasons grand ladder points and for the 3rd season in a row my points gain has been lower than others players who finished lower in the ladder season. There is also a hugely disproportionate difference between my gain and those who finished within a few places. Is this because those players have gained in arena also?
