Do you think any cards are IMBA?

Post by winstonz »

The damage output for Magic Overwhelm 450-550 dmg to every unit is really high compared with other diamond cards. Plus it's cooldown is only 3 secs? I personally think it's a bit overpowered. But that's just me. Maybe I don't have enough level 40 unit cards to tank it.

Well, Imba is a relative term, you would expect epic>legendary>diamond>gold>silver so Epic cards should prabably be "IMBA"

IMBA? In My Bank Account? It's My Baby Again?

Magic Overwhelm is a trigger, so you don't know if you'll use it or not. I'd bet people who play it in quick often go without it being used. Personally, I get giddy when I see my opponent using one. I've looted about ten of them (sacrificed them all for rubies) and have yet to use them. They beef up my bears like none other!

I completely agree. Magic overwhelm restricts many unit based decks from using even just 1 spell card, especially so in "pro mode." The probability of the enemy summoning Magic overhelm is particularly small, but even so, its power is far too great to even risk playing a spell card IN A UNIT BASED DECK (if your running heavy armor, high damage spells, then this is probably the only situation this does not apply). A single card of that much threat is far too powerful.

Is it IMmediately BAnned? Hmm.. or Insane Mummy Breaking Ass, no wait that doesn't work, Innovative, Masterful, Broken Awesomeness, there.

as Pr0digy says the Magic overwhelm isn't always great, but because so many people play them (someone must have mentioned that statisticially more people play 1 or more spells) it also made me stop with magic/creature decks for some time. It should hurt the creatures of the person casting it as well.

Most insane deck I played against was the '3 creator' deck, or were there 4 even? Don't remember, was killed too fast. But you can't ban epics, people payed a fortune for them!

apart from the overwhelm I haven't really seen any card that was too overpowered. There are loads of cards that just aren't played cause they could be a bit better! Chance for Death tower is too low, Godess' Favor should be different, like less than 20%, heal the unit 60%, something nice like that. Some more. I have seen people play with death tower though, although I can't remember ever seeing anyone play 'Godess' Favor...

Hi IMBA is a term I picked up from the Dota forums.
I suppose it's a short for "imbalance". It's a butchery of the english language anyway.
We could use the term "overpowered"

Ah, O.P. Okay, I think no, everything has its counter. If anything, a lot of cards are under-powered, but not single card stands out as being overpowered. They all have some sort of weakness.
