Necklet new players must see the name if the big player so they can chart their moves and build a counter strategy. This is how David beats Goliath. Also your original post concerns players dumping to friends. If a friend starts with a lvl 41 frost wyrm then you know who you are playing bc no one else has frost wyrm that level. That player could theoretically still cheat very easy. To accomplish what you want you would have to take things farther and hide these levels and hence hit points and attack values of the cards even portrait will be a dead giveaway. This changes the design of the game too much. You and I both know this game is as much psychology as cards. It is a must that we see each other's names to know each other's card range and tendencies. Without this information I will always react to frost wyrm dragon slayer the same way on my third and fourth picks bc I can't anticipate my opponents third and fourth picks anymore and use that info. That would be a shame to lose this aspect of the game. This game should be like a chess match where we are looking two moves ahead.
However I do agree that a solution for any kind of dumping. I don't know best way to do this but I suggest one possibility is that guild members don't play other members in their guild. That could certainly work.
